Plainsight

AI security monitoring for Shopify.

Built by a founder who created and sold an ecommerce platform, then uncovered security issues in Shopify itself.

How it works

Three steps. Nothing to install.

  1. Tell us your store

Request access with your Shopify domain. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure, and we never need access to your admin.

  2. We browse and analyse

Our checks browse your store the way a customer does and record what it loads. AI compares changes and explains suspicious behaviour.

  3. You get an alert when an anomaly is detected

If something looks wrong, you get a short report straight away: what we found, the proof, and what to do next.

Our checks

Some of what we look for on your storefront.

Checkout redirects

Your checkout button sending shoppers somewhere other than your Shopify checkout.

Unexpected data sharing

Scripts sending cart or form details to unfamiliar websites.

Fake forms and popups

Suspicious payment forms or verification prompts appearing on your storefront.

Spam links and content

Unwanted ads, links, or text appearing on your store.

Why we built this

Scanning theme files alone isn’t enough.

A compromised app, a stolen login, or someone misusing their access can put shoppers at risk. Harmful code can even arrive through an app’s settings after your page loads.

Plainsight combines browser checks with AI analysis to look for suspicious changes in the storefront your customers actually use, and explain what needs attention.

Meet the founder

Built by someone who knows ecommerce from the inside.

I’m Daniel Glucksman. I’ve spent over a decade building ecommerce technology, including an entire platform from scratch as cofounder and CTO of GrocerKey, later acquired by Point Pickup. I then served as CTO at PrettyDamnQuick, working with leading Shopify brands.

“I built & sold an ecommerce platform and uncovered Shopify security issues. Now I’m bringing that experience to Plainsight.”
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to install an app?

No. We check your store from the outside, the same way a shopper visits it. Nothing is added to your store.

Later we will offer an optional script tag for enhanced monitoring. It will never be required.

Do you need access to my Shopify admin?

No. We only check the public pages of your store, the way a shopper sees them. We never need access to your admin, and we never place orders or enter checkout.

Is this real time monitoring?

No. Plainsight runs scheduled checks of your storefront, each with AI analysis designed to investigate suspicious code and behaviour. Because it does not watch every visit, a problem that appears and disappears between checks can be missed.

How is Plainsight different from a basic security scanner?

A scanner that only matches known threats is like older antivirus software: useful for recognising familiar attacks, but unfamiliar code may not match anything on its list.

Plainsight is designed to load your store in a browser and use AI to analyse the code it runs, where it sends data and how it behaves. Suspicious findings come with evidence, an explanation and a practical next step.

Will you fix problems for me?

We do not change anything on your store. We tell you what we found, show you the proof, and explain what to do.

Are you connected to Shopify?

No. Plainsight is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.
