Let Shopify recognise our checks
Only needed if we ask you. Takes about a minute in your Shopify admin.
Most stores never need this. Shopify limits automated visitors to protect stores, and occasionally that can block our checks. If it happens on your store, we will ask you to create a crawler signature, which shows Shopify that you approved our checks. You create it in your admin and send it to us, and our checks include it on every visit.
What it does not do. A signature does not give us access to your Shopify admin, your orders, your customers or your checkout. It only lets Shopify identify our visits to your public store pages.
Create the signature
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Preferences.
- Find the Crawler access section and click Create signature.
- In Name, enter Plainsight.
- In Domain, choose the domain you want us to monitor. It must already be connected to Shopify.
- In Valid for, choose the longest option available. The longest is 3 months.
- Click Create.
- Click Copy next to Signature-Input and next to Signature, and send both values to us at daniel@glotomati.com.
If you lose the values, you can copy them again from the same Crawler access list.
When it expires
Signatures expire and cannot be renewed or extended. Before yours expires, we will remind you to create a new one and send it to us. Until you do, checks on your store may stop or be incomplete.
